This is our second and sadly, last Sabbath with our new friends in Belize. We worshiped with our new church family, partook of another of Bill's wonderful meals of mashed potatoes/gravey, Fry chick, boiled cabbage and buns!! Did you know that 20% of the population of Belize is Seventh Day Adventist?
Then off to town to give away 500 lbs of shoes.
Trish and the happy little girl who received a new dress!!
Allen being "mobbed" by the kids wanting goodies!!
Happy children and their shoes... we fell in love with these kids. They are so appreciative and gave back
Through their smiles!!
Near the end, the shoes are nearly gone. We were able to find
a fit for every shoe!!
At the end of the evening, we were treated to an amazing dinner in a beautiful place. Tony's resort. Tony Is a local who is very supportive of all the Adventure group has been doing the last 8 years. If anyone is interested in a wonderful getaway in a beautiful place, consider Tony's resort in Corozal town Belize.

Friday-final day of construction
There was once a stranger who was walking down a lonely road. He passed by 3 men, each with a wheelbarrow, with a large rock inside. He was curious to know what they were doing, so he stopped the first man and asked, "Sir, what are you doing?" Without looking up, the man said "I'm hauling rocks". Unsatisfied with the answer, the stranger stopped the second man and asked, "Sir, what are you doing?" The second man, without looking up said, "I'm building a wall." Still not satisfied with the answer, the stranger stopped the third man and asked, "Sir, what are you doing?" The man sat down his wheel barrow, straightened his back, wiped his brow, lifted his face and hands toward Heaven and said, " I am building a Cathedral to the Glory of The Lord!"
During the 5 1/2 days we were building/painting/cooking, each of us was, at one time or another, one of the three men either hauling a rock in a wheel barrow, building a wall, or building a "Cathedral." But when the day was done, the tools put away, showers taken, clothes changed, all of us became the man building the Cathedral. We were not able to get the entire structure up but we accomplished an amazing amount of work in that 5 1/2 days. 500 (aprox) blocks were laid, rebar cut, unimaginable tons of rock, sand, water and concrete were hauled, mixed, spread, cut and every bit of it by hand.
The picture below is where we started.
and below....... where we ended
Our group. We are a mottle looking crew but you can be sure we have had a ball and made
Life long friends.
